Setting

Set Up HBL Pay on the go!

​You can use your HBL Mobile app to setup HBL Pay, then use your phone to conduct transactions and revolutionize the way you make payments.

  1. Login to HBL Mobile and tap on HBL Pay on the home screen.
  2. Select the card that you want to add to HBL Pay and your phone will be scanned to see if it meets the requirements.
  3. Agree to the terms and conditions and your phone will be ready to make payments through HBL Pay

How to conduct a transaction using HBL Pay?

Simple & Convenient!

  1. Look for on the POS machine
  2. Merchant enters the transaction amount.
  3. Unlock your phone and hold your phone in front of the contactless reader to perform the transaction
    4. ​

Note:

  • This service is only available for Android phones with Android 6.0+
  • Transactions will be conducted using the default card, selected while setting up HBL Pay. To set up a default card, please go to Cards Management and Manage HBL Pay
  • This service is available on all HBL Visa and Mastercard Debit Cards

​HBL Pay is a feature embedded in HBL Mobile that converts your phone into your HBL Card and allows you to make payments at POS machines with contactless technology.

​HBL Pay can be used to make payments at any merchant, with a contactless enabled POS machine that displays this symbol.

Currently, this service is available on Android phones with Android 6.0+ and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. ​

HBL Pay uses your phone’s Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to securely exchange data between your phone and POS machines with contactless technology.​

HBL Pay is extremely secure, as it is developed according to the latest tokenization standards set by both Visa and Mastercard.​

To know if your transaction through HBL Pay has been conducted, please check the POS machine for confirmation. ​

​To view the transaction history, go to Manage HBL Pay under Card Management on HBL Mobile and the last 10 transactions conducted using HBL Pay will be visible.

You can disable/remove a card from HBL Pay by going to Card Management on HBL Mobile and tapping on Manage HBL Pay.​

Yes, your physical card can be used while HBL Pay is enabled on your phone.​

Yes, you can use HBL Pay internationally where contactless transactions are accepted.​

No, you do not need an active internet connection to make payments using HBL Pay. You may occasionally be asked to connect to the internet if HBL Pay detects unusual behaviour.​

This service is currently available on all HBL Mastercard & Visa debit cards​

HBL Pay is an alternate to your physical card and all controls on the physical card apply to HBL Pay. If the transaction is not going through, please contact HBL Contact Centre at 111-111-425.​

​Yes, it is necessary to have an unlock method on your phone to use HBL Pay. If you remove the unlock mechanism from your phone all the cards added to HBL Pay will be removed.

No, since you can only use active cards for HBL Pay.​
