Sohni Dharti Remittance Account (SDRA) is introduced as part of HBL’s continued focus on promoting home remittances and strengthening financial inclusion under SBP guidelines. The program is designed to facilitate seamless receipt of home remittances for Pakistani individuals and POC holders, whether resident or non-resident.
Under this program, HBL will introduce dedicated SDRA account variants in both Conventional and Islamic banking. These accounts will be available through the HBL Digital Account Opening (DAO) platform as well as HBL branches, enabling greater accessibility for remitters, beneficiaries, and prospective remitters.

Eligible individuals aged 18 years and above holding a valid Pakistani identity document (CNIC, SNIC, NICOP, POC, or POR) may apply for the Sohni Dharti Remittance Account.

The SDRA is a PKR-based current account designed specifically to receive home remittances for Pakistani individuals and POC/POR holders, whether resident or non-resident.
All Pakistani individuals and POC/POR holders aged 18 years and above, including residents and non-residents, may open this account.
The account is funded solely through home remittances.
Yes, SDRA can be opened through the HBL Digital Account Opening platform as well as through HBL branches.
Upon activation, an automated email will be sent to the registered email address along with encrypted copies of the Account Opening Form, Terms & Conditions, and Key Fact Statement.
The account is typically opened within five (5) working days, subject to complete and accurate documentation.
