Any business that collects cash either at their own premises (outlet, shop, etc) or at their customer’s door-step where they deliver/offer services​

Tap & Pay machines are large bulky instruments with significant installation and maintenance costs. HBL Tap & Pay is an android based mobile app which will be installed on merchant mobile phone to accept card payments

• Merchant collect the payments against the order from the customer by using Mobile App.
• Merchant initiates a transaction by entering the order ID and amount of the transaction. Alternatively, these details can be scanned from through barcode/QRcode pasted on the order parcel.
• Customer card details can be captured for payment either through contactless mode or by manually entering the card details in the mobile app
• Customer will receive an OTP from his bank to authorize the transaction
• Transaction is completed after successful verification of OTP by customer
• Merchant will be notified of the transaction status
• E-Receipt will be shared with the customer via SMS or email

There are two mode of payments

• Contactless - Merchant asks Customer to scan or tap Card on phone
• Manual - Enter customer card details manually

Customer provides an email address or mobile number where notification is sent by HBL Tap & Pay app​

The amount will be disbursed into next working from the date of transaction into merchant bank account maintained with HBL. ​

Note: Funds settlement will depend on Payment Scheme cutover.

Following are the two basic requirements to avail HBL Tap & Pay;

• Registered business in Pakistan.
• Registered company’s bank account at HBL.

​Only PKR currency available for transactions on HBL Tap & Pay.

​Payments made through HBL Tap & Pay are very safe. Every transaction is protected by a unique One Time Password (OTP) received by the customers

Any card scheme accepted for transactions in Pakistan can be used with the HBL Tap & Pay​
