UNIONPAY ONLINE PAYMENT

HBL UnionPay PayPak Co-Badge DebitCard are now protected by UPOP using UPOP SecurePay interface for internet-based transactions. UPOP SecurePay is the latest technology supported by UPOP, designed to ensure safe and secure internet-based transactions through authentication of each transaction by the cardholder so that you use your card with more confidence. With this service, when you use your HBL UnionPay PayPak Co-Badge DebitCard on websites that have incorporated the UPI SecurePay, you will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) through SMS to complete your transaction.

To avail the benefits of UPOP SecurePay, please ensure that your mobile phone number and/or email address are updated with us. To update these details, please visit your parent branch or call HBL PhoneBanking at 111-111-425.

HOW DOES UPOP SECUREPAY WORK?

Step 1 - Select the goods or services you want to purchase from the merchant websites and proceed to the payment page

Step 2 - You will be asked to select payment mode. If UnionPay is selected, you will be forwarded to UnionPay Online Payments (UPOP) hosted payment page

Step 3 - You will be required to enter the UnionPay PayPak Co-Badge DebitCard number, payment information and registered mobile number and click submit

Step 4 - Upon successful validation, you will receive a 6-digit Dynamic Verification Code

Step 5 - You will enter the expiry date, CVN (3-digit code printed on the back of the UnionPay PayPak Co-Badge DebitCard) and the Dynamic Verification Code on the UnionPay Online Payments (UPOP) hosted payment page

Step 6 – Upon successful transaction you will see the response on the e-Commerce website and will also get SMS from HBL on your registered mobile number

3D Secure

3D Secure is the latest technology supported by 1Link, designed to ensure safe internet-based transactions through authentication of each transaction by the cardholder so that you use your card with more confidence. With this service, when you use your HBL DebitCard on websites that have incorporated the “1Link” sign, you will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) either by SMS or email as you desire to complete your transaction.

HOW DOES 3D SECURE WORK?

Step 1: Shop online at any 3D Secure enabled website

Step 2: Enter your HBL DebitCard details during check-out. The online store will route the information to HBL for verification

Step 3: A window will appear asking you to select a medium (SMS or email or both) to receive a One-Time Password (OTP)

Step 4: As per your selected medium, you will receive an SMS and/or email with the unique 6-digit OTP

Step 5: Enter the 6-digit OTP, select the check-box “Agree to Terms and Conditions” and click “Submit”

Step 6: Upon submission, your transaction will be processed

Chip & pin

Welcome to a world of convenience with enhanced security. Your HBL DebitCard is now a Chip & PIN debit card. This card provides enhanced financial security as transactions conducted with this card will be validated through a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). This PIN will be the same which will be used for your ATM transactions. You will need to enter this PIN to complete your transaction on PIN enabled Point of Sale (POS) machines

Kindly note that for POS machines which do not support PIN authentication, your signature will be required on the receipt to complete the transaction.

HOW TO GENERATE A PIN?

To activate your HBL DebitCard, please follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Generate your 5-digit activation code by sending the following SMS to 14250 using your mobile number registered with HBL

DC (Last 4 digits of your debit card) - Example: DC4321

Once the code is received, visit any HBL ATM along with your HBL DebitCard, activation code and CNIC number. (This code is valid for 3 days only. In case your activation code expires, please repeat Step 1 of the card activation process to generate a new activation code)

Step 2: Insert your HBL DebitCard into any HBL ATM

Step 3: Select your preferred language

Step 4: Enter your 5-digit HBL DebitCard activation code

Step 5: Enter your date of birth (DDMMYYYY)

Step 6: Enter your 13-digit CNIC number

Step 7: Select your 4-digit PIN code

Step 8: Re-enter your PIN code

Step 9: Check for successful card activation message and memorize your PIN code

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) should not be shared with anyone. You can view the DebitCard Terms and Conditions from the documents given below.

HOW DOES CHIP & PIN DEBIT CARD WORK?

Step 1: The merchant inserts your card at a PIN enabled POS machine and enters the transaction amount

Step 2: The POS machine will prompt for a PIN to be entered by you

Step 3: On entering the correct PIN the transaction is confirmed and completed
